Esthetician Instagram Bio Mistakes!

Are you an esthetician looking to boost your spa marketing efforts on Instagram? As both a potential client and a spa marketing professional, I've come across some common mistakes in esthetician Instagram profiles that could be hindering your success. Let's explore three essential elements that are often missing from esthetician's Instagram bios and how they can impact your online presence.

  1. Your Name: A Must-Have for Solo Estheticians

As a solo esthetician, establishing a personal connection with your audience is crucial. However, one common mistake I've noticed is the absence of the esthetician's name in their Instagram bio. Your name is your identity, and it should be one of the first things your potential clients see when they visit your profile. Without it, your brand loses that personal touch, and potential clients may find it challenging to relate to you on a personal level.

Including your name in your Instagram bio not only adds a human touch but also makes it easier for clients to address you when they interact with your content or reach out for inquiries. So, remember, whether you are an individual esthetician or part of a team, proudly showcase your name in your bio to build that important connection with your audience.

2. Your Location: Help Clients Find You

Another critical element missing from many esthetician Instagram profiles is their location. Your location is essential information for potential clients, especially if they are interested in visiting your spa or booking your services. Including your location in your bio and tagging it in your posts allows clients to quickly identify if you are conveniently located for them.

Spa marketing heavily relies on attracting local clients, and mentioning your location helps you target your desired audience effectively. Remember, Instagram's location feature can significantly boost your discoverability, making it easier for potential clients to find and engage with your content.

3. Link to Your Website's "About Me" Page

Your Instagram bio offers limited space, but it's essential to make the most of it. One crucial link that estheticians often overlook is the link to their website's "About Me" page. Your website is your online storefront, and the "About Me" page is where potential clients can learn more about you, your expertise, and your spa services.

By providing a direct link to your "About Me" page, you guide interested clients to essential information that can help them make informed decisions about booking your services. Showcase your skills, experience, and passion for esthetics on this page to leave a lasting impression on potential clients.

4. Put Yourself in the Shoes of a Potential Client

Always remember to view your Instagram profile from the perspective of a potential client. Even if your content has captured their interest, missing elements like your name, location, and a link to your website's "About Me" page can leave them feeling lost and uncertain about your esthetician services.

Let's look at my profile as an example.

Below where mine says "Esthetician Marketing - Meghan" that area is SEO friendly. So when someone searches esthetician marketing on Instagram my profile will show up. This s a great place to put in your keywords. This could include your location or your specialty. For example "Vancouver Acne Specialist". Now you'll notice I added my name in this field. That's simply because it fits there and I am always running out of room with my bio. To save space I added it in that field. Your name can go in this field if it can fit OR it can go in your bio.

Then when you click my link in bio. FYI to get my own custom URL I created a mobile-friendly page on my website that is only used for this link in bio. This way I have a clean-looking URL that matches my brand.

Now when you click that button you'll see links for my core programs, a sign-in link for current students, and then at the bottom a lovely little button that directs the viewer to my website and about me page.

I believe that having that button available in your link in bio can only bring good things to your business. Both you and I work 1:1 with people. People want to learn more about the person they are working with. Especially if that individual is touching their face.

Incorporate these essential elements into your esthetician Instagram bio to create a strong and engaging online presence. A well-optimized Instagram profile can work wonders for your spa marketing efforts, helping you attract new clients and establish lasting relationships with your existing ones. So, take a moment to review your Instagram bio and ensure it includes all the must-haves for successful esthetician marketing on the platform.
